China’s pet market is experiencing remarkable growth, driven by economic development and evolving societal trends. Valued at 701.3 billion yuan in 2024, the market is expected to reach 1.15 trillion yuan by 2028, according to iiMedia Research. Factors such as the aging population and rising single households have contributed to increased pet ownership, elevating spending on food, supplies, healthcare, and entertainment. Statistics indicates that the urban pet consumption market grew 7.5% in 2024, totaling 300.2 billion yuan, with the dog and cat sectors contributing 155.7 billion (4.6% growth) and 144.5 billion yuan (10.7% growth), respectively.

From February 27 to March 2, shortly after the Chinese New Year, the 12th Pet Fair Beijing will take place at the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Hall). Widely recognized as a key event for pet food and supply companies to plan their marketing strategies for the year ahead, the fair will span 120,000 square meters and host over 1,500 exhibitors representing the entire pet industry value chain.
